Things I made

Seven products I built for fun. I use every single one of them, most days. If you find them useful, that is the bonus track.

For marketing teams
$29 to $2,500

Marketing Prompt Hub

A library of prompts I wished existed when I was running the team. Now it does.

Hundreds of prompts for campaign briefs, brand voice, audience research and the boring bits everyone secretly hates. Use the free starter set, upgrade if you want the deep cuts, or hire me to build a custom hub for your org.

Morning Stack

Your whole morning, in one tab, before the world gets to you.

Weather, news, calendar, the one task you actually need to finish today. Pay once, never see a subscription prompt again. Built because I wanted it on my own laptop at 7am.

For real writers

DraftFolk

A writing tool with no AI inside it. On purpose.

Drafts, decks, notes, all in one quiet workspace. No “rewrite this” button, no autocomplete, no smart suggestions. It is just you, the cursor, and the actual writing. You will notice the difference quickly.

Swallowtail

Catch a thought. The swallow keeps it safe.

A quiet little place to save the things worth holding onto. A thought, a quote, a link you do not want to lose. The swallow keeps them safe and flutters them back to you when you have stopped looking for them.

The Ditty

I built this one for me dad.

He has loved music for years and now we have a proper space to share it together. It is a bit unhinged, we only just started it, and it is genuinely cool. Read along if you fancy it.

The Ditty.

A father, a daughter, decades of records between them, finally writing it all down.

The Ditty is the newsletter we always should have had. He picks tracks, I pick tracks, we argue, we agree, we publish the lot. It is unhinged, it is brand new, it is the most fun I have had on the internet in ages.

Music isn’t a hobby. It’s how I think.

I write a music industry newsletter every week. I curate playlists. I read DSP data. I’ve owned a turntable since I was old enough to scratch records I shouldn’t have.

05 · Frequently Asked

The short answers

If your question isn’t here, send it. I read every email myself.

Who is Zara Walker?

A senior writer and marketer with 17 years of editorial behind her, currently running marketing across 8 brands at a music streaming product, mostly with AI agents and a few other bits of fun. Before that: HuffPost, BET365, Virgin Games, NOW TV, Iceland, Dove. On the side: solo-built tools, two newsletters, a turntable older than most interns.

Why “built for fun”?

Because everything on this site started as a small itch I needed to scratch. The bonus track is that other people found them useful too. The phrase keeps me honest: if a thing isn’t fun to make, I usually don’t make it well.

Is she available for hire?

Yes. Open for senior marketing roles, fractional or full time, especially in music tech, media, or anywhere the work involves editorial strategy and shipping. Remote, NL, UK, or a thoughtful hybrid. Best entry point: zara@zarawalker.co.uk.

What does she build with?

HTML, CSS, a lot of Claude, a small amount of stubbornness. The stack is whatever ships the idea that week. Beehiiv for newsletters, Cloudflare Workers for the small apps, WordPress for this site, a notebook for the bits that don’t fit anywhere yet.

Is one of the products really AI free?

Yes. DraftFolk has no model in it. No autocomplete, no “rewrite this”, no smart suggestions. Just a quiet workspace and the cursor. It’s the deliberate counterweight to everything else on this page.

For roles, briefs, ideas, demo tapes, and the occasional hello.
